1) Do not skip meals.  Try to eat every 4-6 hours.

2) Try to balance your plates rather than any restrictions.   Make sure your have lean protein, whole grain, and fruits and vegetables.  Try not to forget low fat dairy to meet your calcium and vitamin D. 

3)  Portion control is very important even with healthy foods

4) Choose water rather than any sweetened or artificially sweetened  beverages.
